Hi, I’m Ivar

A young man with short brown hair and blue eyes, wearing a black long-sleeve shirt and black shorts, is sitting at a round wooden table assembling a computer. He's smiling and looking at the camera. On the table, there are various computer components, tools, and a blue mat, with a kitchen and hallway visible in the background.

About me

I've always enjoyed creating entertaining experiences for other people. I’ve done comedy shows and concerts, written short films and hosted festivals. Though I find game programming to be the most rewarding and fun way to create experiences. I especially love AI-programming and tools programming, since I can see the direct effect it has on players and colleagues. But I’m open to all sorts of programming challenges.

When I work in teams I prioritize moving the project forward as a whole, iteratively, above my own darling features. I take interest in the planning of sprints, trying to find reasonable and efficient goals. I also take on the role of planning sprint celebrations to boost team spirit. If you ask my former team mates I think they would describe as someone who cares much about planning as well as the social dynamics of the group.

Though I enjoy every part of programming, I have a growing love for linear algebra and I hope to develop more in that area since it is very useful for all things game programming. I would also like to develop more in the area of threading.

The most inspiring games I've played are: Left 4 Dead, Halo 3, Age of Mythology, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Fable and Mulle Meck Bygger Båtar.

If you would like to know more about me, please read my CV or contact me!

All the best,
Ivar
